It had only been a day since the Brigadier had been effectively 'whisked' away from UNIT, unceremoniously deposited in the Doctor's TARDIS for extremely vague reasons - something along the lines of 'finding a note for myself saying to pick you up', which thoroughly did not explain a thing - and the Brigadier was quite ready to go back home.
